Experience Professionalism
Jack Arent is a freelance photographer with a storied career which began in sports photography. In the early 2000’s he joined the staff of the seven time NBA champion Golden State Warriors & NBA Photos. After approximately ten years of strictly photographing sports action Jack incorporated wedding photography into his schedule. This is where he further developed a knack for working under pressure while using lighting equipment. After photographing over 100 weddings, which is fast paced run-and-gun portrait photography, he is back working with athletes.
Instead of capturing game action he is photographing portraits and action with studio lighting equipment as his creative outlet. He believes photographing athletes with portrait lighting equipment has the least amount of artistic rules a photographer has to follow and he enjoys the creative process it allows him. In his heart of hearts he is just another athlete as he can’t quit playing ice hockey twice per week, it’s been a 30+ year obsession, and that’s just alright with him. Jack’s goal in high school was to play Division II ice hockey at San Jose State University while studying Photojournalism, but a severe injury and reconstructive surgery derailed him. This unfortunate incident probably is what drives him most to work with young athletes and most importantly, to see them make it to the next level.
